Dear Parent,
February 17 was Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. When you talk with your child about the season of Lent, perhaps these questions will help you think of things you could do as a family:
- What can we do together this Lent?
- Who can we reach out to?
- What can we do for our parish , or for people who need our help?
- When would be a good time for us to pray together every day/every week this Lent?
As you decide on something to do as a family, keep in mind that the season of Lent is about turning our hearts to God; this is called “Conversion.” Perhaps what you decide to do as a family during Lent becomes something you can do as a family all year long.
One of the questions “Who can we reach out to?” might be to help those who are homeless and need some assistance. Our Lenter Outreach is asking if your child can bring in:
- Travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste
- Small jars of peanut butter
- White socks, size 9-11
We will be collecting these items for St. Robert’s Center in Venice. They are in much need of the items listed above. Please bring to the classroom. They will be delivered at Eastr time.
