    • Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

I was surprised to find in myself, a well of faith and love for Jesus far greater than I had imagined possible. I had no idea that along with this beautiful new facet to my life comes an entire community. I still have dinner with the friends I met in RCIA, and I’ve yet to attend mass on Sunday without looking around and seeing a smiling, familiar face. RCIA helped me to find my faith, which in turn has had a positive effect on every aspect of my life. I am forever thankful. – Jaime Schlenck

For adults, the way to join the Catholic Church is a process called RCIA. RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. RCIA is intended for just about anyone and everyone: baptized or not; seekers and doubters; even Catholics who have fallen away and would like to return. In short, RCIA is for you. No matter where you are in your journey of faith, there is a place for you here with us. Don’t be afraid to take that first step.  Come, see for yourself what we are all about!

Catholicism is a way of life. In searching for God to be part of their lives in a deeper and more tangible way, people come to RCIA because they hear the teachings of Jesus speak to their most inner longings.

Many come because they are preparing for marriage to a Catholic partner and desire a faith to share and gift to their children; some are seeking community; some are drawn to the liturgy and expression of God’s Word moving in Scripture; they long to come to the table of the Lord for the nourishment of Spirit that carries them through their daily lives.

However they come, they find their lives transformed. They are more patient, kinder, more compassionate, and stronger through faith in Jesus and his life of love, mercy, and forgiveness.

Everyone is unique in God’s creation and hear the voice of the Spirit in a most intimate and individual way. RCIA responds to this expression through a community of seekers standing in different places in the river of faith that flows in the same direction.

The RCIA meets weekly on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room.
