Formerly known as “CCD”, this is the ministry of religious education for Catholic children of pre-K (age four) through eighth grade who do not attend Catholic schools.
Each session begins with snack time from 3:45 to 4:00 PM, followed by classes held in the school classrooms from 4:00 to 5:15 PM. The registration fee covers books, materials, insurance, and stipends for the catechists.
The “Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) Adapted for Children and Their Parents” is a liturgical and educational experience of growing in faith for children, eight years of age and older, who have not yet been baptized or who were baptized but never made their First Communion.
The children, accompanied by their parents, learn what it means to be young Catholics as they prepare for Baptism, Reconciliation, and Eucharist. Age-appropriate lessons and guidance draw on the spiritual experience the children already have and provide them with the foundations of the Catholic faith upon which they can grow.
