📍 St. Paul the Apostle Church Parish Center (JCPC)
Attendees will receive a free copy of the book Conflict Resilience!
As Catholic Christians we are called to act with charity toward all. But when we have strong disagreements with each other, charity often yields to fractious fighting or unhealthy avoidance, neither of which build positive relationships or advance God’s reign. As Catholics, how can we be true to ourselves, to others, and to our relationships through our disagreements?
Bob Bordone, a Fellow at Georgetown University’s Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life, is co-author of the USA Today bestselling book Conflict Resilience: Negotiating Disagreement Without Giving Up or Giving In. He will introduce the concept of conflict resilience and offer strategies for how to navigate our most difficult conversations at home, work, church, and school.
Bob Bordone is the founder of the Cambridge Negotiation Institute in Cambridge, MA and has been teaching negotiation and conflict resolution at Harvard University for 30 years. He founded Harvard Law School’s Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program while serving as the Thaddeus R. Beal Clinical Professor of Law. He is an active member of Paulist Center Community in Boston, MA and a member of the Advisory Board for the Catholic Common Ground Initiative.
